Personal Color Analysis

What may look like daydreaming is often an artist working. I can spend long stretches of time watching the sunlight rake across a landscape, fall upon a dining tabletop, or reflect off of a person’s eyes, skin, and hair.

Recently I’ve applied my color studies to people and the hues we carry with as we move through our days. We carry the beautiful natural colors of our complexions. We also carry the colors we choose and wear in our clothing and accessories. How these colors interrelate is quite fascinating. When the colors we choose support and enhance the colors we carry in our complexions, we radiate light and energy.

I study personal color analysis with Karen Brunger, founder of the International Image Institute based in Toronto, Canada. Karen built a 23-season color analysis framework to precisely address the complexions of people across the globe. Her system is based on Munsell color theory. She analyzes clients based on three color dimensions: undertone, value, and intensity.

I’ve incorporated Karen’s methodology into my work. Beginning in January, I’m offering personal color analysis to my clients in my West Seattle studio.
